Welcome to the world of Pokemon GO! This mobile game has taken the world by storm since its release in 2016, and it continues to be a popular choice for gamers of all ages. Whether you’re a long-time Pokemon fan or a newcomer to the series, getting started in Pokemon GO can be both exciting and overwhelming. In this chapter, we’ll guide you through the basics of the game and help you get started on your Pokemon-catching adventure.

Getting Started

To start playing Pokemon GO, you’ll need to download the app from your device’s app store. Once you’ve installed the app, you’ll be prompted to create an account or sign in using an existing Google or Facebook account. Once you’ve signed in, you’ll be taken through a brief tutorial that will teach you the basics of the game, including how to catch Pokemon, how to use Pokeballs, and how to battle at Gyms.

Before we dive into the gameplay mechanics, let’s go over the basics of getting started with Pokémon GO.

Download the app: You can download Pokémon GO from the App Store or Google Play.

Create an account: You can either sign up with your Google account or create a new account with your email address.

Customize your trainer: Choose your trainer’s gender, outfit, and appearance.

Choose your starter Pokémon: You’ll be given the choice of three starter Pokémon: Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle. Tap on the one you want to catch.

Chapter 2: Catching Pokemon

Catching Pokemon is the core gameplay mechanic of Pokemon GO. It’s what sets the game apart from other mobile games and what makes it so exciting for fans of the franchise. In this chapter, we’ll guide you through the basics of catching Pokemon in Pokemon GO and share some tips and tricks to help you become a master Pokemon catcher.

Encountering Pokemon

To catch a Pokemon, you’ll first need to encounter one in the wild. Pokemon can appear on the game’s map as you walk or run around in the real world. When a Pokemon appears on your screen, tap on it to enter the encounter screen.

Some Pokemon are more common than others and can be found almost anywhere, while others are rare and only appear in specific locations or during certain times of day. Keep an eye out for rustling grass on the map, which indicates that a Pokemon is nearby.

The encounter screen will show you the Pokemon you’ve encountered, as well as information about its CP (combat power), level, and type. You’ll also see a small circle around the Pokemon, which will change in size and color. The color of the circle indicates the difficulty level of catching the Pokemon, with green being the easiest and red being the hardest.

Using Pokeballs

To catch a Pokemon, you’ll need to use Pokeballs. Pokeballs can be obtained by visiting Pokestops, leveling up, or purchasing them in the in-game shop. When you’re in the encounter screen, you’ll see a button on the bottom of the screen that says “Throw Pokeball.” Tap on this button to throw a Pokeball at the Pokemon.

The goal is to throw the Pokeball so that it hits the Pokemon and captures it. To do this, swipe the Pokeball towards the Pokemon on your screen. The direction and speed of your swipe will affect the trajectory of the Pokeball, so practice your throws to get better at hitting your target.

The aim is to hit the Pokemon in the center of the circle that appears around it. The smaller the circle, the more difficult the catch, but the higher the chance of getting bonus XP and Candy. As you catch more Pokemon, you’ll earn experience points (XP) and Stardust, which can be used to level up your Trainer and power up your Pokemon.

Different Types of Pokeballs

There are several different types of Pokeballs in Pokemon GO, each with its own level of effectiveness. Here are some of the most common types of Pokeballs:

Pokeball: The standard Pokeball is the most common type of Pokeball in the game. It has a low capture rate but is readily available.

Great Ball: The Great Ball is more effective than the standard Pokeball and has a higher capture rate. It’s a good option for catching rarer Pokemon.

Ultra Ball: The Ultra Ball is the most effective type of Pokeball and has the highest capture rate. It’s best used for catching the strongest and rarest Pokemon.

Premier Ball: The Premier Ball is a special type of Pokeball that can only be obtained during Raid Battles or as a reward for completing certain tasks. It has the same capture rate as a standard Pokeball but is exclusive to Raid Battles.

Types of Berries

Berries are a type of item in the popular mobile game, Pokemon GO. These small fruits can be used to enhance your gameplay by making it easier to catch Pokemon, increase the amount of Candy you receive, and more. In this chapter, we’ll explore the different types of berries available in Pokemon GO, and how you can use them to become a more effective Pokemon Trainer.

There are four different types of berries available in Pokemon GO, each with its own unique effects:

Razz Berry: The Razz Berry is the most common type of berry in Pokemon GO. When fed to a Pokemon, it will make them easier to catch by decreasing their likelihood of fleeing.

Pinap Berry: The Pinap Berry is a more rare berry that, when fed to a Pokemon, will increase the amount of Candy you receive from catching that Pokemon. This is especially useful when trying to evolve a Pokemon or power it up.

Nanab Berry: The Nanab Berry is another rare berry that, when fed to a Pokemon, will calm it down and make it less likely to move around during a catch attempt. This can be useful when trying to catch a Pokemon that is constantly jumping or attacking.

Golden Razz Berry: The Golden Razz Berry is the rarest and most powerful berry in Pokemon GO. When fed to a Pokemon, it will greatly increase your chances of catching it, even if it has a high CP or is a rare Pokemon.

Using Berries in Pokemon GO

Berries can be used in a variety of situations in Pokemon GO, depending on your goals and the types of Pokemon you’re encountering. Here are some tips for using berries effectively:

Use Razz Berries on hard-to-catch Pokemon: If you’re having trouble catching a Pokemon, try feeding it a Razz Berry before throwing a Pokeball. This will increase your chances of catching it and prevent it from fleeing.

Use Pinap Berries to increase Candy: If you’re trying to evolve a Pokemon or power it up, feeding it a Pinap Berry can be a great way to get more Candy. This will allow you to evolve or power up your Pokemon faster.

Use Nanab Berries on moving Pokemon: If you’re encountering a Pokemon that is constantly moving around and making it difficult to catch, try feeding it a Nanab Berry. This will calm the Pokemon down and make it easier to catch.

Use Golden Razz Berries on rare or high-CP Pokemon: If you’re encountering a rare or high-CP Pokemon that you really want to catch, use a Golden Razz Berry. This will greatly increase your chances of catching it and make it easier to add to your collection.

It’s important to note that using a berry doesn’t guarantee a successful catch. The strength of the Pokeball you use, the Pokemon’s level and CP, and other factors will all play a role in determining your chances of catching the Pokemon.

Earning Berries

Berries can be earned by visiting Pokestops, completing research tasks, and by leveling up your Trainer. You can also purchase them in the in-game shop using Pokecoins.

Tips for Using Berries

Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your berries in Pokemon GO:

Save your Pinap Berries for rare or hard-to-find Pokemon, or for Pokemon that you need more Candy for.

If a Pokemon is moving around a lot, use a Nanab Berry to slow it down.

Use a Razz Berry if a Pokemon is particularly difficult to catch, such as a high-level or rare Pokemon.

Rare and shiny Pokemon

Rare and shiny Pokemon are highly sought after by players of Pokemon Go. These Pokemon have unique colors or special features that set them apart from their regular counterparts, making them prized possessions for trainers. Here is a list of some of the rarest and most coveted shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Go:

Shiny Mewtwo – Mewtwo is one of the most powerful Pokemon in the game, and its shiny form features a cool blue coloration that makes it stand out.

Shiny Charizard – Charizard is already a fan favorite, but its shiny form with black skin and blue flames is even more impressive.

Shiny Gyarados – In the main series games, it takes a lot of effort to evolve a Magikarp into a Gyarados, but in Pokemon Go, players have the chance to catch a shiny Gyarados during special events.

Shiny Rayquaza – Rayquaza is a legendary Pokemon that is known for its power and unique design. Its shiny form is even rarer and features a striking black and green color scheme.

Shiny Pikachu – Pikachu is the mascot of the Pokemon franchise, and its shiny form with a golden tint is one of the most recognizable shiny Pokemon in the game.

Shiny Lugia – Lugia is another legendary Pokemon that is highly coveted by players. Its shiny form is a subtle change, but its golden hue makes it stand out.

Shiny Groudon – Groudon is a powerful ground-type legendary Pokemon that was first introduced in the third generation of Pokemon games. Its shiny form is a unique shade of blue and is highly prized by collectors.

Shiny Kyogre – Kyogre is a water-type legendary Pokemon that is known for its power and unique design. Its shiny form is a striking purple color and is a must-have for collectors.

Shiny Eevee – Eevee is a versatile Pokemon that can evolve into several different forms. Its shiny form has a unique color scheme that is highly sought after by collectors.

Shiny Magikarp – Magikarp is one of the weakest Pokemon in the game, but its evolution into Gyarados makes it a fan favorite. Its shiny form is even rarer and is a must-have for collectors.

These are just a few examples of the rare and shiny Pokemon that can be found in Pokemon Go. Keep an eye out for special events and raids to increase your chances of catching these elusive creatures.

Leveling up your player is an important aspect of the gameplay in Pokemon GO. As you level up, you’ll unlock new items, earn more experience points (XP), and gain access to more powerful Pokemon. In this chapter, we’ll explore the different ways you can level up your player in Pokemon GO.

Earning XP

Experience points, or XP, are the currency of Pokemon GO. You earn XP by performing various actions in the game, such as catching Pokemon, hatching eggs, and visiting Pokestops. Here are some ways to earn XP:

Catching Pokemon: The most common way to earn XP is by catching Pokemon. The amount of XP you earn depends on the difficulty of the catch and whether or not you use a curveball or Nice, Great, or Excellent throws.

Hatching Eggs: You can earn XP by hatching eggs, which requires walking a certain distance while the egg is in an incubator.

Visiting Pokestops: You can earn XP by visiting Pokestops and spinning the disc to receive items.

Battling Gyms: You can earn XP by battling gyms and defeating other players’ Pokemon.

Evolving Pokemon: You can earn XP by evolving Pokemon, which requires Candy and Stardust.

Leveling Up

Once you’ve earned enough XP, you’ll level up your player and unlock new items and Pokemon. Here’s how to level up your player:

Earn XP: As mentioned above, the key to leveling up is earning XP. Keep catching Pokemon, hatching eggs, and battling gyms to increase your XP.

Collect items: As you level up, you’ll unlock new items such as Great and Ultra Balls, and Incense. Make sure to collect them from Pokestops and the in-game shop.

Catch more powerful Pokemon: As you level up, you’ll encounter more powerful Pokemon in the wild. These Pokemon will have higher CP and will be more difficult to catch, but they’ll also be more rewarding.

Join a team: Once you reach level 5, you’ll be able to join one of three teams: Team Mystic, Team Valor, or Team Instinct. Joining a team will allow you to battle gyms and earn rewards.

Battle Gyms: Once you’ve joined a team, you can battle gyms to earn rewards such as XP, Stardust, and Gym Badges.

Leveling up your player is an important aspect of the gameplay in Pokemon GO. By earning XP and collecting items, you’ll be able to catch more powerful Pokemon, battle gyms, and join a team. So keep exploring your surroundings, catching Pokemon, and earning XP to level up your player and become the ultimate Pokemon Trainer!

Exploring the map is one of the most exciting aspects of playing Pokemon GO. The game utilizes augmented reality (AR) technology to overlay the game world onto your real-world surroundings, allowing you to catch Pokemon, visit Pokestops, and battle gyms in the real world. In this chapter, we’ll explore how to navigate the map and make the most of your explorations.

Understanding the Map The Pokemon GO map is divided into various zones, each with its own features and characteristics. Here are the different types of zones you’ll encounter on the map:

Wild Zones: These are areas where you can encounter and catch Pokemon in the wild. They’re typically parks, natural landmarks, and other areas with lots of greenery.

Urban Zones: These are areas where you’ll find lots of Pokestops and gyms. They’re typically located in busy urban areas like downtowns and shopping districts.

Water Zones: These are areas near bodies of water, like rivers, lakes, and oceans. You’ll find water-type Pokemon in these zones.

Raid Zones: These are areas around gyms where you can participate in raid battles to catch powerful Pokemon.

Navigating the Map

To navigate the map, you can simply use your finger to swipe left or right, up or down. You can also pinch or spread your fingers to zoom in or out. Here are some tips for navigating the map:

Look for landmarks: Look for landmarks like parks, churches, and historical monuments, as these are often where you’ll find Pokestops and gyms.

Keep moving: Pokemon GO is designed to encourage you to move around and explore. The more you move, the more Pokemon you’ll encounter, and the more Pokestops you’ll find.

Stay safe: Always be aware of your surroundings and stay safe while exploring. Don’t play while driving or crossing busy streets, and be mindful of your personal safety while playing in unfamiliar areas.

Use the Nearby feature: The Nearby feature in the game will show you which Pokemon are nearby and where to find them. Use this feature to guide your explorations and find the Pokemon you’re looking for.

Exploring the map is an integral part of the Pokemon GO experience. By understanding the different types of zones on the map, navigating it effectively, and staying safe while exploring, you can catch lots of Pokemon, visit Pokestops, and battle gyms. So put on your walking shoes, grab your phone, and start exploring the world of Pokemon GO!

Pokestops are important locations in the Pokemon GO game where you can collect items, including Pokeballs, potions, revives, and eggs. They are typically located at landmarks, like parks, historical monuments, and public art installations. In this chapter, we’ll explore how to find and use Pokestops effectively.

Finding Pokestops Pokestops are easy to spot on the map. They are represented by blue cubes with a spinning disc in the middle. When you get close to a Pokestop, the cube will change into a circle, and the disc will start spinning. Here are some tips for finding Pokestops:

Look for landmarks: Pokestops are usually located at landmarks like parks, churches, and historical monuments. Keep an eye out for these locations while you’re exploring the map.

Check the Nearby feature: The Nearby feature in the game will show you which Pokestops are nearby and where to find them. Use this feature to guide your explorations and find the Pokestops you’re looking for.

Use lures: Lures are items that you can use to attract Pokemon to a Pokestop for 30 minutes. When you use a lure at a Pokestop, it will start spawning Pokemon, making it a great place to catch lots of Pokemon in a short amount of time.

Using Pokestops

When you’re close enough to a Pokestop, you can spin the disc to collect items. Here’s how to use Pokestops:

Tap the Pokestop: When you’re close enough to a Pokestop, tap it to bring up the disc.

Spin the disc: Swipe the disc in a circular motion to make it spin. Once it’s spinning, you’ll see items pop out of the Pokestop and float towards you.

Collect your items: Tap the items to collect them. They will be added to your inventory automatically.

Wait for the Pokestop to reset: Pokestops reset every five minutes, so if you want to collect more items, you’ll need to wait for the Pokestop to reset.

Pokestops are a crucial part of the Pokemon GO game. They provide valuable items that you need to catch and train Pokemon effectively. By knowing how to find Pokestops, use them effectively, and wait for them to reset, you can collect lots of items and become a more successful Pokemon trainer. So keep exploring the map, and don’t forget to stop at Pokestops along the way!

Gyms are some of the most important locations in Pokemon GO, and they provide players with exciting challenges and opportunities to earn rewards. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about gyms in Pokemon GO.

Finding Gyms Gyms are located all over the world and are marked on the in-game map with large, tower-like structures. Once you’ve reached level five, you can access gyms and start battling against other trainers. Here are some tips for finding gyms:

Look for landmarks: Gyms are often located at popular landmarks like parks, museums, and sports stadiums. Keep an eye out for these locations on the map to find nearby gyms.

Explore new areas: Gyms can be found in both urban and rural areas, so make sure to explore new locations to find gyms you may not have discovered before.

Check your local community: Many players share information about gym locations in online communities, so check forums and social media groups to find gyms near you.

Joining a Team

Before you can participate in gym battles, you’ll need to join one of three teams: Team Valor (red), Team Mystic (blue), or Team Instinct (yellow). Each team has its own unique philosophy and style, so choose the one that best aligns with your play style.

Battling in Gyms

Once you’ve joined a team, you can start battling in gyms. The goal of a gym battle is to defeat all of the Pokemon defending the gym. Each gym can have up to six defenders, so you’ll need to select a team of up to six Pokemon to battle against them.

During a gym battle, you’ll use your Pokemon’s quick moves and charged moves to attack the defending Pokemon. You’ll also need to dodge attacks to avoid taking damage. As you battle, you’ll fill up your Pokemon’s charge meter, which allows you to use more powerful attacks.

Taking Control of a Gym

If you successfully defeat all of the Pokemon defending a gym, you’ll be able to take control of the gym for your team. You can leave one of your own Pokemon at the gym to defend it, and other trainers from your team can come to the gym to add their own Pokemon to the defense.

Gym Badges

Each gym that you defeat will award you with a gym badge. Gym badges are a way to track your progress in the game and show off your accomplishments to other players. They also provide bonuses, like increased item drops from Pokestops located at the gym and increased chances of catching Pokemon that are caught in the vicinity of the gym.

Gyms are an essential part of the Pokemon GO experience, and they provide players with exciting challenges and opportunities to earn rewards. By joining a team, battling against other trainers, and earning gym badges, you can increase your standing within the Pokemon GO community and show off your skills as a trainer. So get out there, explore your local area, and start battling in the gyms of Pokemon GO!

Field Research is a key part of the gameplay experience in Pokemon GO, offering players daily tasks and rewards for completing them. Here are some informative and detailed tips on how to best utilize Field Research:

Understand what Field Research is: Field Research is a feature that offers daily tasks to players. Completing these tasks earns players rewards, such as Pokemon encounters, items, and even special research tasks.

Know where to find Field Research tasks: Field Research tasks are found at PokeStops, which are marked on the game’s map. Visit a PokeStop and spin its photo disc to receive a Field Research task.

Understand the different types of tasks: There are two types of Field Research tasks: regular tasks and special research tasks. Regular tasks are the daily tasks that offer rewards for completion, while special research tasks are longer, multi-step tasks that offer rare rewards.

Check your progress: You can check your progress on completing Field Research tasks by clicking on the Field Research icon in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. This will show you which tasks you’ve completed, which are in progress, and what rewards you’ve earned.

Strategize which tasks to complete: Some tasks are more challenging than others, so it’s important to strategize which ones you want to complete first. For example, tasks that require you to catch certain types of Pokemon may be more difficult than tasks that simply require you to spin PokeStops.

Use your rewards wisely: Field Research rewards include items such as Rare Candy and TMs, which can be used to power up or evolve your Pokemon. Be sure to use these rewards strategically to help strengthen your team.

Keep track of your streaks: You can earn bonus rewards for completing Field Research tasks for multiple days in a row. Make sure to keep track of your streaks and don’t miss a day, as this can cause you to lose your streak and miss out on bonus rewards.

Take advantage of special events: During certain events, the types of Field Research tasks and rewards may change. Make sure to take advantage of these events to earn special rewards and Pokemon encounters.

Share with friends: Field Research tasks can be completed with friends, so consider teaming up with other players to complete tasks together. This can help you earn rewards faster and create a more social gameplay experience.

Have fun: Field Research is a fun and rewarding part of the Pokemon GO experience. Don’t get too caught up in completing tasks and remember to enjoy the game and the journey.

One of the key features of Pokemon GO is the ability to connect with other players around the world and form friendships. Not only does this add a social element to the game, but it also unlocks several benefits and rewards. In this chapter, we’ll take a look at the different friend interactions available in Pokemon GO and how they can enhance your gameplay experience.

Adding Friends

To add a friend in Pokemon GO, you’ll need their Trainer Code. You can share your Trainer Code with others to add them as a friend. Once you’ve added a friend, you’ll see them on your Friends List, along with their current level and location.

Friend Levels

As you interact with your friends in Pokemon GO, you’ll increase your friendship level. There are four levels of friendship: Good, Great, Ultra, and Best. Each level offers increasingly greater rewards.

Sending Gifts

You can send gifts to your friends, which contain items such as Poke Balls, Berries, and even special eggs. You can only send one gift per friend per day, and each gift requires a postcard from a Pokestop or Gym.

Trading Pokemon

Once you reach the Good Friends level, you can trade Pokemon with your friends. Trading requires both players to be in close proximity to each other and costs Stardust. Trading can result in the transfer of a Pokemon’s Candy, which can be used to power up or evolve that species.

Battle Together

Battle Together At the Great Friends level, you can team up with your friends to battle in Gyms and Raids. This can make it easier to take down tough opponents and earn rare rewards.

PvP Battles

At the Ultra Friends level, you can challenge your friends to Trainer Battles, even if they’re far away. This can be a fun way to test your skills against other players and earn rewards.

Best Friends Rewards

At the Best Friends level, you’ll receive the greatest rewards, including a guaranteed Lucky Pokemon trade, bonus attack power when battling together, and a special Best Friends Badge.

Friendships and Bonuses

Having friends in Pokemon GO can also provide bonuses, such as extra Premier Balls when catching a Raid Boss, a higher chance of receiving a Souvenir item from Pokestops, and even reduced Stardust costs when trading with friends.

Adding friends and increasing your friendship level in Pokemon GO can unlock many benefits and rewards. From sending gifts to trading Pokemon to battling together, there are many ways to interact with your friends and enhance your gameplay experience. So, get out there and start making some new friends in the world of Pokemon GO!

Team Rocket is a notorious villainous organization in the world of Pokemon, and they have made their presence known in Pokemon GO. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about Team Rocket in Pokemon GO.

Encountering Team Rocket:

While exploring the map in Pokemon GO, you may come across Pokestops that have been taken over by Team Rocket. These Pokestops will have a dark aura around them and will be marked with a black “R” on the map. When you spin the Photo Disc at one of these Pokestops, a Team Rocket Grunt will appear, challenging you to a battle.

Hot Air Balloons:

They may also appear in hot air balloons that seem to fall from the skies above and follow you around. Simply tap the balloon to engage the Team Rocket Battle.

Team Rocket Battles

When you battle against a Team Rocket Grunt, you’ll face off against three of their Pokemon, each with a different typing and moveset. The battles can be tough, but if you successfully defeat all three of their Pokemon, you’ll have the opportunity to catch one of their Shadow Pokemon.

Shadow Pokemon

Shadow Pokemon are Pokemon that have been corrupted by Team Rocket’s experiments, and they’re more powerful than their regular counterparts. When you catch a Shadow Pokemon, it will have lower CP and health than a regular Pokemon of the same species, but it can be purified to remove its shadowy aura and increase its strength.

Purifying Shadow Pokemon

To purify a Shadow Pokemon, you’ll need to use Purification Stardust and Purification Candies. Purification Stardust is obtained by catching Pokemon, spinning Pokestops, and participating in raids and battles, while Purification Candies are obtained by catching Shadow Pokemon and defeating Team Rocket Grunts and Leaders. Once a Shadow Pokemon has been purified, its CP and health will increase, and it will also learn a special move.

Team Rocket Leaders

In addition to Grunts, Team Rocket also has three leaders: Cliff, Sierra, and Arlo. Each leader has a different team of Pokemon, and they can be challenging to defeat. If you successfully defeat a Team Rocket Leader, you’ll have the opportunity to catch a special Shadow Pokemon, like Shadow Moltres, Shadow Articuno, or Shadow Zapdos.

Giovanni, the Team Rocket boss in Pokémon GO:

Giovanni is the leader of Team Rocket and serves as the main antagonist in Pokémon GO.

He can be encountered through the Special Research tasks, which require players to complete a series of objectives to unlock the opportunity to battle him.

To complete the Special Research tasks, players must first defeat Team Rocket Grunts at PokéStops to obtain Mysterious Components, which can be used to build a Rocket Radar.

The Rocket Radar is used to locate Team Rocket hideouts where players can battle Team Rocket Executives and eventually Giovanni himself.

Giovanni uses a team of three powerful Pokémon, which can vary depending on the current month’s lineup. These Pokémon are often rare and difficult to obtain.

If players manage to defeat Giovanni, they will receive a chance to catch his Shadow Legendary Pokémon, which can be purified and added to their collection.

  • Defeating Giovanni also completes the Special Research task and unlocks new challenges and rewards.
  • Giovanni can be encountered once per month, with a new lineup of Pokémon each time. This keeps the battles fresh and challenging for players.
  • Players can also encounter Giovanni during special events or through limited-time research tasks.

Defeating Giovanni is a major accomplishment in the game and is a testament to a player’s skill and dedication.

Team Rocket adds an exciting new element to the world of Pokemon GO, and battling against their Grunts and Leaders is a great way to earn rewards and catch powerful Shadow Pokemon. So keep an eye out for Pokestops with a dark aura and a black “R” on the map, and get ready to take on Team Rocket in the world of Pokemon GO!

EGGS:

Eggs are a valuable and exciting feature in the world of Pokemon GO. They allow players to hatch new Pokemon and obtain rare and powerful creatures that they may not have encountered in the wild. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about Eggs in Pokemon GO.

Types of Eggs

There are Four types of Eggs in Pokemon GO: 2 km, 5 km, 10 km and 12km. Each type of Egg has a different set of Pokemon that can hatch from it. 2 km Eggs have the most common Pokemon, while 10 & 12 km Eggs have the rarest and most powerful Pokemon.

Hatching Eggs

To hatch an Egg, you need to put it in an incubator and walk a certain distance. The distance required to hatch an Egg depends on the type of Egg. For example, a 2 km Egg requires 2 kilometers of walking, while a 10 km Egg requires 10 kilometers of walking. You can only have a limited number of Eggs incubating at a time, so make sure to prioritize which Eggs you want to hatch.

Obtaining Eggs

You can obtain Eggs from Pokestops and Gifts from friends. When you spin a Pokestop, there is a chance that you’ll receive an Egg as a reward. Gifts from friends can also contain Eggs, and you can send Gifts to your friends to increase your chances of receiving Eggs.

Types of Pokemon in Eggs

The Pokemon that can hatch from Eggs are determined by the type of Egg. For example, a 2 km Egg can hatch common Pokemon like Pidgey and Rattata, while a 10 & 12 km Egg can hatch rare and powerful Pokemon like Bagon and Gible. The Pokemon that hatches from an Egg will have a higher CP and better stats than the same Pokemon found in the wild.

Special Eggs

There are also special Eggs in Pokemon GO that can only be obtained from certain events or by completing specific tasks. These Eggs can contain rare and powerful Pokemon that are not available through normal Eggs. For example, during the annual Eggstravaganza event, players can obtain special 2 km Eggs that contain rare Pokemon like Buneary and Togepi.

Eggs are an exciting and rewarding feature in Pokemon GO. By hatching Eggs, you can obtain rare and powerful Pokemon that you may not have encountered otherwise. Make sure to spin Pokestops and send Gifts to your friends to increase your chances of obtaining Eggs, and don’t forget to walk the required distance to hatch them!

Incubators

Incubators are an essential tool for any Pokemon GO player who wants to hatch Eggs and obtain rare and powerful Pokemon. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about Incubators in Pokemon GO.

Types of Incubators

There are three types of Incubators in Pokemon GO: the regular Incubator, the Super Incubator and an Unlimited one. The regular Incubator is free and has limited uses, while the Super Incubator requires coins to purchase but has more uses and hatches Eggs faster.

Unlimited Incubator: this is like a regular incubator but is orange in appearance and has infinite uses.

Regular Incubator: The regular Incubator can be obtained from Pokestops, as a reward for leveling up, or as a reward for completing certain tasks. It has three uses, meaning that you can hatch three Eggs with it before it breaks. It takes the same amount of time to hatch Eggs with the regular Incubator as it does to walk the required distance.

Super Incubator: The Super Incubator can be purchased from the in-game shop for 200 coins. It has three uses, like the regular Incubator, but it hatches Eggs 1.5 times faster. This means that you can hatch Eggs with the Super Incubator in less time than it would take with the regular Incubator.

Using Incubators

To use an Incubator, select the Egg you want to hatch and choose the Incubator you want to use. Once the Egg is in the Incubator, you need to walk the required distance to hatch it. The distance required depends on the type of Egg.

Managing Incubators

You can only have a limited number of Eggs incubating at a time, and each Egg requires its own Incubator. This means that you need to manage your Incubators carefully to make sure that you are hatching the Eggs you want to hatch. You can also use Incubators strategically to prioritize the Eggs that you want to hatch faster.

Incubators are an essential tool for hatching Eggs in Pokemon GO. Make sure to manage your Incubators carefully to hatch the Eggs you want to hatch and prioritize the Eggs that you want to hatch faster with the Super Incubator. By using Incubators effectively, you can obtain rare and powerful Pokemon and level up your player in Pokemon GO.

Evolving Pokemon is a crucial aspect of Pokemon GO. By evolving your Pokemon, you can make them stronger, increase their CP, and unlock new moves. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about evolving Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

CP and Stats Changes When a Pokemon evolves, its CP and stats will increase. The amount of increase depends on the species of the Pokemon and the stage of evolution. Generally, the final evolution of a species will have the highest CP and best stats. However, it’s important to note that some Pokemon may have different evolution paths and may evolve into different species depending on various factors.

Evolving Pokemon

To evolve a Pokemon, you need to collect a certain number of that Pokemon’s Candy. You can obtain Candy by catching that specific Pokemon, hatching it from an Egg, or transferring it to the Professor. Each Pokemon requires a different amount of Candy to evolve. For example, a Pidgey requires 12 Pidgey Candy to evolve into a Pidgeotto.

Evolving Tips Here are some tips to help you evolve your Pokemon efficiently:

Catch as many Pokemon as possible: The more Pokemon you catch, the more Candy you’ll receive. Make sure to catch all the Pokemon you encounter, even if you already have them in your collection.

Use Pinap Berries: Pinap Berries double the amount of Candy you receive when catching a Pokemon. Use Pinap Berries when catching Pokemon that you need Candy for to speed up the evolution process.

Transfer extra Pokemon: When you transfer a Pokemon to the Professor, you receive one Candy for that Pokemon. If you have extra Pokemon that you don’t need, transfer them to the Professor to get Candy that you can use to evolve other Pokemon.

Save Lucky Eggs: Using a Lucky Egg doubles the amount of XP you receive for 30 minutes. Save your Lucky Eggs for when you’re evolving a lot of Pokemon at once to maximize your XP gains.

Evolving Rare Pokemon Rare Pokemon like Dratini and Larvitar require a significant amount of Candy to evolve, making them challenging to obtain. Here are some tips to help you evolve rare Pokemon:

Walk with your Buddy: You can set a Pokemon as your Buddy and walk a certain distance to earn Candy for that Pokemon. This is an excellent way to obtain Candy for rare Pokemon that are hard to find in the wild.

Participate in events: During special events, rare Pokemon become more common, making it easier to catch them and obtain Candy. Keep an eye out for events that feature rare Pokemon.

Use Rare Candy: Rare Candy is a special item that can be used to obtain Candy for any Pokemon. Save your Rare Candy for rare Pokemon that require a lot of Candy to evolve.

Save your candy: Don’t waste your candy on evolving Pokemon with low CP or poor stats. Instead, focus on saving your candy for Pokemon with high CP and good potential.

Wait for events: During certain events, Pokemon GO may offer increased candy rewards for catching or hatching specific Pokemon. Take advantage of these events to stock up on candy for your favorite Pokemon.

Check for evolution requirements: Some Pokemon have special requirements to evolve, such as walking a certain distance or using a special evolution item. Make sure to check the requirements before attempting to evolve a Pokemon.

Evolving Pokemon is an essential aspect of Pokemon GO. By evolving your Pokemon, you can make them stronger and unlock new moves. Use the tips outlined in this chapter to evolve your Pokemon efficiently and make the most of your Candy.

Powering Up Pokemon

Powering up Pokemon is an essential aspect of Pokemon GO, allowing players to increase the combat power (CP) of their Pokemon and make them stronger for battles. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about powering up your Pokemon in Pokemon GO.

What is Powering up: Powering up your Pokemon involves spending Stardust and Candy to increase its CP. Each power-up increases the Pokemon’s CP by a certain amount, depending on its level and species. The amount of Stardust and Candy required to power up a Pokemon increases as it becomes stronger.

When to Power up: It’s important to be strategic about when you choose to power up your Pokemon. Generally, it’s best to wait until you have a Pokemon with a high IV (Individual Values) before powering it up. IVs determine the potential of a Pokemon’s stats and can range from 0 to 15 for each stat (Attack, Defense, and Stamina). A Pokemon with high IVs will have a higher maximum CP than one with low IVs, so it’s more efficient to power up high IV Pokemon.

How to Power up: To power up a Pokemon, go to the Pokemon screen and select the one you want to power up. Then, tap the “Power Up” button at the bottom of the screen. If you have enough Stardust and Candy, the Pokemon’s CP will increase. Keep in mind that each power-up increases the Pokemon’s level, which can also affect the amount of Stardust and Candy required for future power-ups.

Powering up vs Evolving: It’s important to note that powering up a Pokemon and evolving it are two different things. Evolving a Pokemon will increase its CP and stats significantly, while powering up will only increase its CP by a small amount. However, powering up can be useful for improving a Pokemon’s stats before evolving it.

Powering up your Pokemon is an essential aspect of Pokemon GO, allowing you to increase their CP and make them stronger for battles. Be strategic about when you choose to power up your Pokemon, and focus on high IV Pokemon to maximize your Stardust and Candy. Remember, evolving a Pokemon is a significant way to increase its stats, but powering up can be useful for improving it beforehand.

Trainer battles are a core component of the Pokemon GO experience, allowing players to face off against each other and test their skills. In this chapter, we’ll explore everything you need to know about trainer battles in Pokemon GO.

Types of Trainer Battles There are two main types of trainer battles in Pokemon GO: Training Battles and PvP Battles.

Training Battles: These are battles that take place at Gyms, where you can battle against friendly Gym leaders to earn XP and Prestige for your team. In training battles, you can use a team of six Pokemon to battle against a single defender. You can also choose the difficulty level of the battle by selecting the defender’s CP.

PvP Battles: PvP (player vs player) battles allow you to face off against other trainers in real-time. You can initiate PvP battles by scanning the QR code of another trainer, or by challenging friends or nearby players. PvP battles can also take place in special events and tournaments.

Preparing for Trainer Battles Before entering a trainer battle, it’s important to prepare your team for the battle ahead. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

Tips for Winning PvP Battles

Understand type matchups: Understanding which Pokemon are strong and weak against certain types is essential in selecting a team that can withstand and deal with different types of attacks.

Utilize shields: Trainers can use shields to protect their Pokemon from taking damage during battles. It is essential to use shields strategically to avoid wasting them.

Pay attention to the charge moves: Charge moves are powerful attacks that can deal significant damage to opposing Pokemon. It is crucial to time these moves carefully and to pay attention to the charge move of the opponent.

Use fast moves effectively: Fast moves can charge the charge move gauge quickly and deal damage to opposing Pokemon. It is essential to use fast moves effectively to charge the charge move gauge and deal damage to opposing Pokemon.

Have a balanced team: A team that consists of Pokemon with different types and movesets can ensure that the trainer has an advantage over their opponent.

Winning Trainer Battles To win a trainer battle, you must defeat all of your opponent’s Pokemon. Here are some tips to help you come out on top:

  • Keep your Pokemon’s health high: Use potions and revives to keep your Pokemon’s health high throughout the battle.
  • Switch Pokemon strategically: If one of your Pokemon is at a disadvantage against your opponent’s, switch it out for a more suitable one.
  • Predict your opponent’s moves: If you can predict your opponent’s moves, you can use them to your advantage. For example, if you know your opponent is about to use a charge move, you can switch to a Pokemon that resists it.
  • Use shields wisely: Each trainer has two shields that they can use to block incoming attacks. Use them strategically to prevent your Pokemon from taking unnecessary damage.

PvP battles in Pokemon GO are an exciting and engaging aspect of the game that allows trainers to test their skills against other players from around the world. With careful preparation, strategic planning, and a balanced team of powerful Pokemon, trainers can increase their chances of winning battles and earning rewards.

Pokemon GO has introduced a variety of exciting features since its release in 2016, and one of the most anticipated ones is raids. Raids allow players to team up with others and take down powerful Pokemon that would be impossible to defeat alone. In this chapter, we will discuss what raids are, how to participate in them, and the benefits of doing so.

What are Raids?

Raids are special events that take place at Pokemon gyms in the game. These events allow players to team up with others to battle against a powerful Pokemon called a raid boss. Raid bosses are much stronger than regular wild Pokemon and require a group of trainers to defeat.

Participating in a Raid

To participate in a raid, you must first locate a gym with an active raid nearby. When you approach the gym, you will see a giant egg on top of it, which indicates that a raid is about to start. The egg will have a countdown timer on it, indicating when the raid will begin.

Once the countdown timer reaches zero, the egg will hatch, and the raid boss will appear. To participate in the raid, you must have a raid pass. You can obtain a free raid pass by visiting a gym, or you can purchase a premium pass from the in-game shop.

When you use a raid pass to enter a raid, you will join a group of up to 20 trainers who are also participating in the raid. You will have a limited amount of time to defeat the raid boss before the raid ends.

Types of Raids

Normal Raids: Normal raids are the most common type of raid in Pokemon Go. These raids usually feature a Pokemon that has a relatively low difficulty level and can be defeated by a team of players with moderate to high level Pokemon. Normal raids usually have a one-hour timer and can be started by using a raid pass.

Mega Raids: Mega raids are a special type of raid that feature mega-evolved Pokemon. These raids are more difficult than normal raids, and players will need to have a strong team of Pokemon to successfully defeat the mega-evolved Pokemon. Mega raids usually have a one-hour timer and require a mega raid pass.

Legendary Raids: Legendary raids are the most challenging type of raid in Pokemon Go. These raids feature powerful legendary Pokemon that can only be obtained through raid battles. Legendary raids usually have a one-hour timer and require a legendary raid pass.

Remote Raids: Remote raids are a special type of raid that allows players to participate in raids that are not in their immediate area. Remote raids can be started by using a remote raid pass, and players can invite friends from around the world to join their raid battle. Remote raids are available for all raid types.

Levels of Raids

Level 1 Raids Level 1 raids are the easiest type of raid in Pokemon Go. These raids usually feature a Pokemon with a low difficulty level and can be defeated by a team of players with low-level Pokemon.

Level 2 Raids Level 2 raids are a bit more difficult than level 1 raids. These raids usually feature a Pokemon with a moderate difficulty level and can be defeated by a team of players with moderate-level Pokemon.

Level 3 Raids Level 3 raids are significantly more challenging than level 2 raids. These raids usually feature a Pokemon with a high difficulty level and can only be defeated by a team of players with high-level Pokemon.

Level 4 Raids Level 4 raids are the most difficult type of raid available in Pokemon Go. These raids usually feature a legendary Pokemon or a Pokemon with a very high difficulty level. Level 4 raids can only be defeated by a team of players with very high-level Pokemon.

Defeating the Raid Boss

To defeat the raid boss, you will need to work together with your team and use your strongest Pokemon. The raid boss will have a large amount of health, so it is crucial to have a well-rounded team with a variety of Pokemon types.

During the battle, you can use special items called “raid passes” to heal your Pokemon and increase their power. You can earn more rewards, such as rare candies and golden razz berries, by dealing more damage to the raid boss.

Once the raid boss is defeated, you will receive rewards such as rare candy, golden razz berries, and a chance to catch the raid boss. If you catch the raid boss, it will be a higher CP than the wild version of the same Pokemon.

Benefits of Participating in Raids

Participating in raids has several benefits, including:

Rare rewards – Raids offer the opportunity to earn rare items that cannot be obtained through other means, such as rare candy, golden razz berries, and TMs.

High-level Pokemon – Raids give you the chance to catch high-level and powerful Pokemon that you cannot find in the wild.

Socializing – Raids are a great way to meet other trainers and socialize while playing the game.

Leveling up – Participating in raids gives you the chance to earn experience points and level up your trainer.

Raids are an exciting feature in Pokemon GO that allow players to team up and battle against powerful raid bosses. Participating in raids offers rare rewards, high-level Pokemon, and the chance to socialize with other trainers. Now that you know how to participate in a raid, gather your friends, get your raid passes, and start taking down some raid bosses!

Check the weather before playing: Certain weather conditions can boost the spawn rates and CP of certain types of Pokemon. For example, if it’s raining, you’ll be more likely to find water-type Pokemon

Mastering the Art of Throwing Poke Balls: Catching Pokemon in Pokemon Go requires a bit of skill. You need to learn how to throw Poke Balls accurately to increase your chances of success. Flick the ball by swiping upward towards the Pokemon, taking into account the distance and speed of the Pokemon. You can also use curveballs by spinning the ball in a circular motion before throwing it. Curveballs give you a better chance of catching the Pokemon.

Understanding the Importance of AR Mode:AR Mode is a feature in Pokemon Go that allows you to see the Pokemon in the real world through your phone’s camera. This feature adds an immersive element to the game and makes it more exciting to catch Pokemon. However, AR Mode can make it harder to catch Pokemon, so it’s best to turn it off when you’re trying to catch a difficult Pokemon.

Using Catching Techniques for Rare Pokemon:Rare Pokemon are much harder to catch, and you’ll need to use special techniques to capture them. These techniques include using stronger Poke Balls, throwing curveballs, and using Razz Berries or Golden Razz Berries. You can also team up with other trainers to increase your chances of catching rare Pokemon.

Take advantage of community day events: Once a month, Niantic hosts a community day event where a specific Pokemon spawns more frequently and has a higher chance of being shiny. You can also learn exclusive moves during these events.

Save your stardust: Stardust is a valuable resource that you’ll need to power up your Pokemon. Try to save it for the Pokemon that are worth investing in, such as ones with high IVs or ones that are strong in battles.

Use Pinap Berries on rare Pokemon: Pinap Berries double the amount of candy you receive when you catch a Pokemon. This is especially useful for rare or hard-to-catch Pokemon.

Make use of lucky eggs: Lucky eggs double the amount of XP you earn for 30 minutes. You can use them strategically, such as when you’re evolving a lot of Pokemon at once or when you’re about to hit a new level.

Don’t forget about field research tasks: Completing field research tasks can earn you valuable rewards such as rare Pokemon encounters, stardust, and items like TMs.

Join a local Pokemon GO community: Whether it’s through social media or in-person events, joining a local Pokemon GO community can help you stay up to date on the latest news and events, as well as connect with other players.
